Stucco ~ June 16, 2011

I decided to stucco the outside… I have all the mesh (elaborate chicken wire) up, drip edge, J channel… We will be doing it next week i hope. I have someone local with a concrete sprayer… STill will be very labor intensive.

Well… it took 7 persons – 4 days. 8 tons of sand, 31 bags of lime, type SA, and 31 bags of portland cement. Mixed in a rented mortar mixer. We sprayed on the scratch coat, then the finish coat. Smoothed it with a trowel, and then sponged it smooth… or as smooth as i wanted it. They referred to my house, as they left… ‘the rock’ My hands are still healing from the lime burns. I cannot be more impressed with the outcome. It’s awesome.
