More ICF – Finishing the shed roof ~ November 3, 2010
Almost there – putting up the second set of 9 window bucks, and the last of the ICF. More concrete!
Finished with concrete ~ November 10, 2010
Well.. we poured the last of the ICF today. How many yards you say… over 70…. but who’s counting. This pour went smoothly. You know what you’re doing when you finish, right? Now the roof. Let me know if there was a picture you wanted that you don’t see here!
Beginning the ROOF! ~ November 15, 2010
Today we set roof trusses. They were fabricated from 2×6 and 2×4 by Ohio Valley Truss. They were 46 feet long… The truck literally DROPPED them off… or dumped them rather. My dad and I set 3×3 angle iron brackets – which we drilled and set 7″stud anchors into the concrete, and bolted them down to. Then, we set each truss to the angle iron, and bolted them to it.
More Truss Pictures….November 15, 2010
Here are some more pictures of the truss system. Trusses were 46′ long, 29″ tall. No center support. 32′ clear span. 28″ overhand on the north, and 84″ overhang on the south. This will block the summer sun, and let the winter sun in.
Roof – Almost ~ November 19, 2010
We sheeted the roof with 5/8″ plywood. Didn’t have tongue and groove available in 5/8, so we used clips.. hope that’s good enough. Went with ice guard around the perimeter and then 30lb felt for the rest. The 29 guage sheet metal is coming next week. Two pieces – 24′ each to do a run. 3′ coverage.. 52 pieces total.
